Hello, this is Deborah Lindemann, Clinical Hypnotherapist.

Welcome to our December 2013 Newsletter.

Exciting New Changes! Our newsletter is evolving, and we hope you like the results. Several months ago we surveyed readers to find out what they liked about our newsletter and what changes they might want to see. Now we're responding to that input. In this issue you'll see two feature-length articles instead of three. This frees up space for a number of informative and entertaining short subjects that we're calling "In Brief" and "Did You Know?" Other short features will appear in upcoming issues. Please let us know what you think.

Remember: Hypnosis is the fastest and easiest way to change what's not working in your life.

            Your Thoughts

You probably know that your thoughts and emotions affect your physical health and happiness, but do you know why?

There are specific chemical reactions associated with every thought and emotion you have, good or bad.

Negative chemical reactions can flood your brain in just a few seconds; that's all it takes. Have you ever been very afraid of something? You might notice that just the thought of it causes your heart to beat faster and your adrenaline to start pumping.

Some of the latest neuroscience research has demonstrated the damaging effects of negative words on your brain, whether the words are said to you by someone else or arise in your own thoughts. Read More

               Did You Know?

An estimated 8.7% of adult Americans have a fear of flying so intense that it qualifies as a phobia, according to the National Institutes of Mental Health. And at least twice that many people experience fear of flying to some extent, according to a study done at Boeing. If you are one of these people, or know someone who is, it's worth noting that hypnosis can literally eliminate this embarrassing and inconvenient problem in as little as one session. Let us know if you'd like more information.

                                        Did You Know?

Famed heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson attributes his success in the ring partly to hypnosis. His longtime trainer Cus D'Amato arranged to have Tyson hypnotized several times each day during training and before fights. "My objective was to destroy" opponents, Tyson says. He won his first 19 professional fights by knockout.

     The Roots of Hypnosis

                 Run Deep

Most people believe hypnosis is a relatively new tool, dating back to perhaps the mid to late 1950s. However, the benefits and uses of hypnosis have ancient roots going way back to Egypt, India and Greece.

                    Did You Know?

Hypnosis pioneer Milton H. Erickson had polio so severe as a child that he was not expected to live. He credited several "auto-hypnotic experiences" during his illness for helping him find the strength to survive. Later in life, confined to a wheelchair, he regularly used self-hypnosis to control his pain.
