Past Life TherapyReincarnation and Past Life Therapy

Have you lived before?

Welcome to "Reincarnation and Past Life Therapy". For many, the concept of reincarnation makes sense, in a world that would otherwise seem unfair, unjust and out of control. For those who accept the idea of reincarnation, it is not a matter of finding a philosophical Band-Aid or quick-fix for what we cannot explain. When studied deeper or experienced first hand through regressive hypnosis it very often has immediate healing and illuminating power.

An Introduction to Reincarnation
In polling many therapists who also work with past life therapy, it has been found that 40% of their client's cures, or sources of their problems, may be found in their past lives.

A Brief History of Reincarnation
Reincarnation is a major cornerstone and tradition of both Buddhism and Hinduism. Surprisingly, reincarnation also has it's roots in both Christianity and Judaism.

An Introduction To Reincarnation

Many licensed, well-respected mental health professionals, ranging from psychiatrists to psychologists successfully use past life therapy to help their clients. Dr. Brian Weiss M.D., a graduate of Columbia University and Yale Medical School, and Chairman Emeritus of Psychiatry at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, is one of the first doctors to explore the past lives of his patients as a means of therapy. Dr. Roger Woolger, PH.D., a psychotherapist and Jungian analyst with degrees in psychology, religion and philosophy from Oxford and London Universities has also recognized the powerful therapeutic breakthrough of Past Life therapy.

In polling many therapists who also work with past life therapy, it has been found that 40% of their client's cures, or sources of their problems, may be found in their past lives. The remainder of originating causes may be discovered in their present childhood or lifetime. Unfortunately, what that may mean is that up to 40% may never fully heal their issues if they are not addressing their past lives.

Many of my clients report they are able to access hidden strengths and talents from previous lives that can be utilized now. Others re-discover their life purpose or path, and as a result are able to refocus their life direction.

As you will see from the growing number of articles that will be added to this section, many of my clients share that reincarnation and past life therapy helps to explain and clarify so many things in their lives.

Have you ever felt an immediate attraction or repulsion to an individual, yet you've never met before? Do you suffer from chronic health issues or overweight? Do you experience strong likes or dislikes for various cultures, geographical areas of the world and foods? Are you troubled by fears or phobias that you cannot explain? Have you ever experienced deja vu, particularly in a specific town or country? Have you experienced a lucid dream in which you were dressed in ancient clothing in a different time? All of these and more may be Glimpses of your own past lives.

It is up to each person to decide if the concept of reincarnation makes sense to them. In deciding one way or another, some interesting questions might be: If we had but one chance at this thing called life, how much could we possibly learn? How can we explain the inequities of one person being born whole and healthy and of noble blood, and another with a severe birth defect, poor and homeless. Reincarnation suggests a progressive process in which the soul is evolving, working on various lessons from lifetime to lifetime. This model may explain the unique templates of each person’s life. In this concept, not only is each soul learning, but humanity as a whole is also evolving and learning.

It is important to state here too, that another method or technique I use to help my clients release their past, which includes the possibility of a past life is TimeLine Therapy. While traditional Past Life Therapy is more detailed, allowing the client to explore the who, what, where, when, how and why, TimeLine Therapy is just as effective as Past Life Therapy, but often quicker as it bi-passes the need to know the details, yet is permanent and lasting.

We are all familiar with birthmarks, yet more often than not, we think of them as simply some type of birth deformity. There is growing evidence that these birthmarks are a type of psychic traumatic residue or memory imprint of a fatal cause of death in a previous life.

Brief History On Reincarnation

Reincarnation is a major cornerstone and tradition of both Buddhism and Hinduism. In addition, the Sufi tradition of Islam carries with it wonderful reflections of reincarnation concepts in much of their arts and music.

Surprisingly, reincarnation also has its roots in both Christianity and Judaism. Judaism refers to reincarnation as “gilgul” and their fundamental belief goes back thousands of years. It remained a pillar of their religion until the mid 1800’s when a more popular western and scientific way of thinking infiltrated Eastern European Jewish society. In Chasidic and Orthodox Jewish communities, reincarnation continues to be an important foundation of their faith until this day.

In regard to Christianity, early references to reincarnation mentioned in the New Testament were removed in the fourth century by Emperor Constantine when the Roman Empire adopted Christianity as their official religion. By the sixth century the Second Council of Constantinople officially declared reincarnation heresy. During these same early Christian times many Church fathers and even the Gnostics accepted reincarnation, though they were politically forced to keep their beliefs a secret due to fear of persecution. These persecutions continued as late as the twelfth Century.

Many modern philosophers and famous people have entertained reincarnation. In some cases it greatly influenced their careers. Although their beliefs in reincarnation were not widely publicized, their writings and private conversations on the subject exist. They include: Carl Jung, Sigmund Freud, Henry Ford, Charles Lindbergh and William Yeats to name just a few.

Edgar Cayce, “the sleeping prophet,” brought reincarnation further into mainstream consciousness with thousands of past life readings that he gave. Although most of his readings originally focused on remedies for physical ailments, he soon began to find solid evidence of connections with past life experiences and current physical problems.

Eleanor Roosevelt was once asked what she felt about reincarnation. Summarizing her statement she wisely stated: “You know, I don’t think it would be any more unusual for me to show up in another life, than showing up in this one!”

The deep belief in reincarnation has been around for thousands of years and has flourished in some of our most ancient cultures. There is a renaissance in consciousness taking place. We are searching for our roots, our purpose, for meaning, and in that search we should consider reincarnation.
