January 2009 - Manifesting Secrets – Part 2

Back to Newsletter

What New Year’s Resolutions have you made for yourself and your life? What do you want to manifest and create in 2009? In my  December ’08 Newsletter I started a series of Manifesting Secrets that begins with being clear with what you want, and why you want it. The practice involves writing down daily intentions and delegations to the universe. If you missed December’s newsletter, I highly suggest you begin there with writing those daily intentions and delegations. Now on to part 2.

Step 1: Manifesting what you want is not about forcing or pushing to “make” things happen. That’s how most of us have been taught. “The early bird gets the worm!” “You have to make things happen”. “You have to work hard to succeed”, etc., etc. When you’re coming from this perspective you quickly become unmotivated and go into resistance because you’re not coming from an inspired place. There are hundreds of motivational workshops and seminars and books out there, all on goal setting. Most every one of them is of the old school of “sheer will” and goal setting. While that does work for some, it doesn’t work for most.

Step 2: Surrender to the way things are right now. What you want is coming because you have asked for it through your intentions and delegations. Surrender isn’t about giving up, it’s about not making right now wrong. It’s about “allowing” your life to be “as is” right now, knowing that the seeds of what you want are germinating even if you cannot see it or sense it yet. Right now is perfect. Where you are now, whether it’s in a specific job, or simply contemplating your next step is perfect for it will lead you to your next step. You will know it when it shows up because it will feel inspired and it feels right, instead of forcing it. So, keep doing what you’re doing right now.

Step 3: Create a little manifestation miracle for yourself each week. This is to help you see that what you are asking for is manifesting. Start small with something like seeing a blue butterfly. It could be on television or in an ad. Or, perhaps manifest something with pink and white stripes that catches your attention, or a cup of coffee with a friend. The fact is it’s usually easier and quicker to manifest small things than big things because we don’t think we “need” to manifest those. The more we think we “need” to manifest something, the more in resistance we are, and the harder we push, and when it doesn’t show up, we lament that our manifesting isn’t working. Then you go into survival mode, and when you go into survival mode you attract more survival oriented events. When you manifest it, write it down in a journal and keep track of your miracles.

Step 4: Answers and solutions to your dreams come through other people. Many of my clients tell me they think they should be able to manifest all by themselves with out any help. Andrew Carnegie, one of the most successful entrepreneurs of all time wrote: "your network determines your net worth”. It’s important to expand your social network. If you tend to say no to invitations you just may be saying no to the person who has the answer you’re looking for.

In our next newsletter we’ll discuss the “How To’s” of your dreams and goals. The fact is, you don’t have to know how-to, you just have to know what you want and the how-to will show up. Isn’t that great?

Many of my clients find that they have old beliefs that are preventing them from successfully manifesting. Many of us grew up in family’s that were just scraping by, or we were told things like “money doesn’t grow on trees”, or some how we got the idea that, “nothing you did was good enough”. The good new is these old patterns can be successfully released through hypnosis. This is the year for you to create the best year ever!
